The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has officially opened the 2025 application system.
Applications are actually open and may shut on fifteen December 2024.
*** Who qualifies for NSFAS funding
To qualify for NSFAS funding, an applicant must meet the following criteria:
• Be a South African citizen or copyright who originates from a house using a combined gross residence earnings that does not exceed R350 000 per annum.
• People with disabilities qualify if their combined domestic earnings isn't going to exceed R600 000 per annum.
• SASSA recipients immediately qualify for funding and wish not submit any evidence of earnings.
*** Loan Scheme for the Missing Middle
The NSFAS Loan Scheme for the missing middle is open to all South African citizens and permanent residents from homes with combined R350 000 and R600 000 for every annum.
Applicants are reminded to offer the right Identity Document numbers, names, and surname, as mirrored inside their South African ID.
NSFAS only funds individuals who are studying or plan to study at a general public university or TVET college in South Africa.
All nsfas application students who wish to study in any of the public universities and TVET colleges should apply timeously and not to wait until the last day.
Learners do not have to wait for matric results to apply for NSFAS. They should apply now and avoid delays in the processing of their application.
