The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has officially opened the 2025 application process.

Applications are actually open and can close on fifteen December 2024.

*** Who qualifies for NSFAS funding

To qualify for NSFAS funding, an applicant must meet the subsequent requirements:

• Be a South African citizen or copyright who arises from a home which has a combined gross household earnings that doesn't exceed R350 000 for each annum.

• Persons with disabilities qualify if their combined home earnings will not exceed R600 000 per annum.

• SASSA recipients automatically qualify for funding and want not post any evidence of income.

*** Loan Scheme for the Missing Middle

The NSFAS Loan Scheme for the missing middle is open up to all South African citizens and permanent inhabitants from households with combined R350 000 and R600 000 for every annum.

Applicants are reminded to offer the right Identity Document numbers, names, and surname, as reflected click here of their South African ID.

NSFAS only funds individuals who are researching or intend to research at a general public university or TVET college in South Africa.

All students who wish to study in any of the public universities and TVET colleges should apply timeously and not to wait until the last day.

Learners do not have to wait for matric results to apply for NSFAS. They should apply now and avoid delays in the processing of their application.
